Small boats, big speed on the Murray
Few Riverland events get the blood pumping like the Dinghy Derby. Small, fast powerboats tear along a course on the Murray, throwing up spray and noise as they race between the banks, while crowds line the riverfront to watch the spectacle.
It's a uniquely riverine event, only possible somewhere the Murray runs broad and reliable, and it draws competitors and spectators from across the region and beyond. Expect a festival atmosphere on the bank - food, families and the roar of engines echoing off the water.
