Loxton
A tidy, tree-lined town wrapped in a horseshoe bend, famous for its re-created pioneer Historical Village.
Loxton grew from a single boundary rider’s hut in the 1890s into one of the Riverland’s most liveable towns, hugged on three sides by the river. The Loxton Historical Village re-creates a working pioneer settlement of more than 45 buildings, while the Tree of Knowledge marks historic flood heights. Walking trails, a riverfront caravan park and nearby Katarapko make it a relaxed, leafy stop.
