Loxton Pioneer Settlement Riverwalk
A shady riverside walking trail linking Loxton's historical village and the Tree of Knowledge.
Loxton's riverfront is among the most attractive in the Riverland, and a walking trail ties its highlights together — the open-air historical village, the famous Tree of Knowledge with its painted flood markers, and the long shaded riverbank in between.
It's a gentle, mostly flat walk that doubles as a history lesson. The flood markers on the Tree of Knowledge tell the story of the great Murray floods in a single, sobering glance.
Do it slowly with a coffee from town and you've got a relaxed couple of hours that captures the genteel, garden-town character Loxton is known for.
