Morgan Conservation Park

Floodplain wetlands at the river's bend

A wetland conservation park on the Murray floodplain near Morgan, rich in birdlife and laced with creeks and lagoons.

Morgan Conservation Park protects a fine stretch of Murray floodplain just upstream of the old river port. Anabranch creeks, lagoons and stands of river red gum create classic riverine habitat that draws pelicans, herons, spoonbills and a host of other waterbirds. Canoeing the creeks, fishing, camping and quiet bushwalking are all on offer, with far fewer visitors than the parks further east. It’s a peaceful, rewarding spot to experience the wetlands at the Riverland’s northern edge.
