Overland Corner Wetlands
Floodplain wetlands and historic stock-route country around the old Overland Corner Hotel.
Overland Corner takes its name from the great droving route along which stock were once walked from New South Wales into South Australia, and the loop of river and wetland here is steeped in that history. Trails lead out from near the historic Overland Corner Hotel through floodplain country rich in birdlife.
It's an evocative spot — old river-trade and droving heritage layered over a working wetland of lagoons and red gum. Walk the tracks, watch the waterbirds, and you'll feel the long human story of this bend in the Murray.
